Let’s Just Fall in Love Again

The other day I had the privilege of taking pictures for Jennifer and Tory. Tory recently got back from Afghanistan, and so Jennifer thought it would be fun to go out and have a fun photoshoot. They made it so easy to take pictures! They are completely in love, and it shows. Jennifer was giddy the whole time, and Tory just kept smiling at her. Jennifer kept saying, “I love this because it gives me an excuse to kiss you for hours!!”  Before we went out to shoot, I had them listen to the song “Let’s just fall in love again” by Jason Castro. The lyrics are perfect, because they talk about how easy it is to fall in love again when you’re already in love! You two were so great to work with, and your pictures show what a beautiful couple you are!

Let’s pretend baby ~ that you’ve just met me ~ and I’ve never seen you before ~ I’ll tell all my friends ~ That I think you’re starin’ ~ and you’ll say the same to yours ~ And oh, we’ll dance around it all night ~ And then I’ll follow you outside ~ And try to open up my mouth ~ And nothin’ comes out right ~ And I wanna fall in love with you again ~ I don’t have to try, it’s so easy who needs to pretend? ~ But because it’s so funny ~ Let’s just think about it honey ~ Let’s just fall in love again.

Saturday in Knoxville

A few months ago, Drew and I decided to meet up in Knoxville for the weekend. I came from Chicago, him from Charleston. It was a nine hour drive for both of us, so basically, we had Saturday together. Which actually made for a great day and a really fun and crazy weekend. In downtown Knoxville, we found this awesome antique store. We talked to the owner, who said he made frequent trips to Europe to find all of the antiques. Which of course meant that we needed to take pictures. Antiques are my favorite!

Hearts! ❤

Engagement: Lily+Jon

I love engagement shoots. They might be one of my favorite things to document. I love the one-on-one time with a couple who is truly in love. This engagement shoot was of my roommate for 3 years, Lily, and her fiance Jonathan. It was so fun to work with them because they are so sweet together. You can tell that Jonathan loves Lily by the way he looks at her, and it’s beautiful to see Lily’s face light up when she is with Jon.

We drove all over Wheaton and Glen Ellyn, IL to take this shoot. They were both English majors, so I thought it would be fun to incorporate their love for books into the shoot. It started raining during the middle, but luckily they were good sports, pulled out Lily’s cute umbrella (which is so her, by the way) and we got a few cute shots in spite of the rain! Congrats you two! You are both beautiful people and I’m lucky to get to be friends with you!

Headshots

Headshots are all about capturing emotion. Wonder, awe, amazement. Look at this little guy. His face says it all. He is completely intrigued by something so simple as a bubble. That’s one thing I love about kids. They find everything fascinating! How much more fun could life be if we found everything to be something new, exciting, and wonderful?

Headshots are all about capturing emotion. And sometimes we just need to let it all out. Screaming is good for the soul, I’m convinced. This shot was taken during our sophomore year of college, and heaven knows we all went through the sophomore slump during the cold Chicago winter. So we decided to have a photoshoot, and this is one of the pictures. Let it out, girlfriend.
